Their latest Album Map of the Soul: 7 has once again set a new Guinness World Record by being the Bestselling Album of 2020 in South Korea. Power of ARMY people! It is not only the Map of the Soul: 7 Album that is breaking records, but also song titles in that album have been topping the charts and breaking records as well. Black Swan is one example which beat Adele’s 5 Year iTunes Record with the song ‘Hello’. Hello was number 1 in 102 countries for 5 years, BTS Black Swan beat that by having 103 #1’s on iTunes making it the song with the most #1’s in history!

BTS made history once again with the release of MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, an album that shattered records and further cemented the group’s global dominance in the music industry. Released on February 21, 2020, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 quickly became a massive commercial success, breaking multiple records in its wake. One of the most notable achievements was the album’s recognition by the Guinness World Records as the best-selling album in South Korea, having sold over 4 million copies. This record-breaking sales figure not only underscored BTS’s incredible popularity but also showcased their unparalleled influence in the K-pop industry, both domestically and internationally.

MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 was BTS’s fourth studio album and a powerful culmination of the themes explored in their MAP OF THE SOUL series. The album’s success was driven by its deeply personal and introspective lyrics, touching on themes of self-reflection, identity, and the struggles the group faced on their journey to global stardom. With its blend of genres, from pop to hip-hop, the album appealed to a wide audience, further expanding BTS’s diverse fanbase. The critically acclaimed tracks, such as “On,” “Black Swan,” and “Boy With Luv,” all helped propel the album to unprecedented success, both in South Korea and worldwide.

The incredible sales numbers for MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 were not just about commercial success but also a testament to the bond BTS shares with their ARMY. The loyal and passionate fanbase has been a driving force behind the group’s achievements, consistently supporting their music, albums, and projects. In particular, the album’s pre-order sales were astronomical, with over 3 million copies pre-ordered before the official release date. This incredible feat solidified BTS’s place as one of the most influential musical acts of the decade, with MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 becoming a symbol of the power of their artistry and connection with fans.

The Guinness World Record recognition was another monumental moment in BTS’s career, marking a significant milestone for both the group and the K-pop industry as a whole. It highlighted the global reach of BTS and the cultural impact they’ve made, not only as musicians but also as cultural ambassadors. MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 represented not just the culmination of a musical era for BTS but also their ability to break barriers, push boundaries, and set new standards in the global music industry. With this album, BTS not only secured their place in history but also inspired future generations of artists to follow their path of innovation, passion, and authenticity.

BTS is always working. If they are not writing music, writing lyrics or arranging chart topping music, they are producing their own music. They have proved that when you have a passion for what you love and enjoy it, you will achieve your goals in the end. This pandemic has not stopped them from sharing themselves with their fans regardless of their busy schedules which include reality shows–In the SOOP BTS; RUN BTS; product endorsements – recently the Samsung Event and even dance practices. BTS is always on the move and they take us ARMY with them. It is no surprise they are always breaking records for doing what they love the most.

So far the 1st half of the year has been amazing for BTS, and THEY NEVER STOP! Now imagine how the year will end. The new single is not only what we have to look forward to, their new Album is set to be released later in the second half of 2020. It is true that BTS music brings joy, healing, happiness, for me it is the only thing that has made this pandemic season bearable, as they make me look forward to something new every time.
