“BTS sat down to talk about their new single ‘Dynamite’ in a 7 second interview where they had only seven seconds to answer a few questions. The questions ranged from how they can describe Dynamite, what was the last thing they cooked, what was the last thing that made them laugh, “Suga said they have not really had many laughable moments lately” to what they would be the first thing that they would do as soon as they get home. The one question that really stood out what the question of what they would like to do or achieve before the year comes to an end. The answers were as varied as each member’s personality. A few were expected from the different members, but V’s answer is what got us excited the most. It is what he has been saying all along that he would like to do and we sure hope that it comes to pass. Read on to find out what V really wants to do before 2020 comes to an end.
By the end of 2020, BTS members had already achieved so much, both as a group and as individuals, breaking records, winning numerous awards, and gaining international fame. But if we take a moment to imagine their aspirations for the year—considering their personalities, past accomplishments, and dreams—they likely had a wide range of things they’d want to achieve. Here’s a look at what each member might have hoped for by the end of 2020:
RM (Kim Nam-joon)
As the leader of BTS, RM had a strong vision not only for the group but for himself as well. He is known for his deep love of art, philosophy, and language. By the end of 2020, RM might have wanted to deepen his understanding of these subjects even more. He might have been looking forward to reading more books and expanding his knowledge, as his introspective nature often led him to search for meaning in the world.
RM had also been keen on focusing on his solo music career, so perhaps he’d been looking forward to working on more solo projects, writing, and producing music that reflected his personal growth. The idea of creating art that goes beyond the constraints of the group may have been something he wanted to explore more deeply. Additionally, he might have hoped to further solidify his role as a cultural ambassador for South Korea, engaging in more global conversations about art, identity, and social issues.
Jin (Kim Seok-jin)
By the end of 2020, Jin, BTS’s oldest member, might have been looking forward to something more personal and fulfilling. He had often shared his desire to spend time with his family, especially with his parents, so he likely would have wanted to focus on strengthening those relationships. His humorous, caring nature meant that he deeply valued spending time with his loved ones and would have enjoyed some quiet moments away from the intense public eye.
On a professional note, Jin might have been excited about expanding his music portfolio. As a member of BTS, he had already showcased his vocal talents, but he had also expressed interest in trying out more solo work. By the end of 2020, he could have hoped to release a solo track or even an album that allowed him to explore his own musical style and persona. Being a multi-talented individual, Jin might also have sought opportunities in acting or variety shows, where his comedic timing and charm could shine.
Suga (Min Yoongi)
Suga, known for his introspective personality and dedication to his craft, likely had a few different aspirations by the end of 2020. One of his most prominent goals could have been to continue to work on his solo projects, particularly under his Agust D alias. As a rapper, producer, and songwriter, Yoongi was incredibly passionate about creating music that was raw and personal. By the end of the year, he might have hoped to release more solo music, further expressing his emotions and experiences in his unique way.
Additionally, given his love for producing music for others, Suga might have been excited about working on more collaborations, whether with other artists or producers. He often expressed his desire to continue evolving as a producer, so 2020 might have been a year where he explored that side of his artistry even further. Furthermore, with his grounded and no-nonsense nature, Suga may have hoped to spend more time focusing on his mental and physical health, balancing the demands of his career with his personal well-being.
J-Hope (Jung Hoseok)
J-Hope, the energetic and optimistic member of BTS, was always someone who sought joy and positivity. By the end of 2020, he might have wanted to continue spreading hope and motivation through his music and public persona. He had a deep passion for dance and performance, so perhaps he was looking forward to improving his craft, exploring new styles, and continuing to shine as one of the best dancers in K-pop.
On the solo front, J-Hope might have wanted to expand his artistic identity further. His mixtape Hope World had been a huge success, and by 2020, he may have been planning his next move. This could have included releasing new music, working with other artists, and maybe even performing more solo shows. Beyond that, J-Hope’s love for charity work and his desire to help others might have led him to focus on more philanthropic efforts, using his platform to inspire positive change in the world.
Jimin (Park Jimin)
Jimin, known for his kind-hearted and empathetic nature, might have hoped to do more with his platform by the end of 2020. His love for helping others and his deep emotional sensitivity could have led him to focus on philanthropic activities, whether through charity work or personal efforts to support the causes he believes in. Jimin’s desire to make a difference in people’s lives likely would have been an important goal for him, especially during such a challenging year globally.
In terms of his artistry, Jimin was always dedicated to improving his dance and vocal skills. By the end of 2020, he may have hoped to continue evolving as a performer, further refining his technique and exploring new creative directions. His yearning for self-expression might have also led him to consider solo music projects, where he could showcase his emotional depth and talent in a more personal way.
V (Kim Taehyung)
V, the artistically inclined and eccentric member of BTS, likely had a few unique dreams for 2020. As someone who deeply enjoys photography, painting, and other forms of creative expression, Taehyung might have hoped to dedicate more time to his artistic pursuits outside of music. Perhaps he would have explored photography more seriously or even delved into painting, creating pieces that allowed him to express his emotions in a different way.
Musically, Taehyung’s distinctive voice and love for soulful melodies might have led him to work on more solo music. By the end of 2020, he could have hoped to release new solo tracks or even an album that showcased his unique artistic vision. Beyond that, his natural charisma and fashion sense likely would have inspired him to expand his role in the fashion industry, maybe even collaborating with designers or launching his own line.
Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook)
Jungkook, often referred to as the “Golden Maknae” for his diverse talents, was likely looking forward to continuing his journey of self-improvement in every aspect of his life. By the end of 2020, he might have hoped to further hone his skills as a musician, dancer, and producer. His ambition to grow as an artist could have led him to work on a solo project, releasing more personal music that reflected his experiences and growth.
In addition to his musical aspirations, Jungkook was known for his love of fitness, so he may have aimed to push himself physically by exploring new sports or training techniques. His commitment to staying healthy and in shape would have likely been a significant focus for him. On a more personal level, Jungkook might have wanted to travel more, experience new cultures, and further develop his identity as an individual, separate from being BTS’s youngest member.
By the end of 2020, each member of BTS likely had personal and professional goals that reflected their growth as individuals and as artists. Whether it was releasing solo projects, working on personal development, or engaging more deeply with their fans and communities, their aspirations were varied yet united by their unwavering commitment to their craft and their passion for making a positive impact in the world. BTS, as a group and as individuals, always strived to be better, and their dreams for 2020 would have continued to reflect that drive.
