BTS became the first group/duo to have no. 1 and no.2 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts simultaneously this week. They have achieved this feat that was last seen a decade ago. This is after their hit song ‘Dynamite’ maintained its no. 2 spot on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 and their ‘Savage Love’ remix with Jawsh 658 & Jason Derulo took no. 1 on the Billboard Charts. BTS was then grouped with 4 other amazing groups, ‘The Beetles’, ‘The Bee Gees’, ‘Outcast’ and ‘Bep’.
In 2020, BTS achieved a remarkable milestone by securing multiple No. 1 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 chart within a short timeframe. Their English-language single “Dynamite” debuted at No. 1 in August, followed by their collaboration on the remix of “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, which also reached the top spot. In November, “Life Goes On” made history as the first predominantly Korean-language song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100
This series of achievements marked BTS as the fastest act to accumulate three No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 in over 42 years, a record previously held by the Bee Gees during their “Saturday Night Fever” era in the late 1970s
The Bee Gees publicly acknowledged BTS’s accomplishment. In October 2020, following BTS’s simultaneous holding of the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Savage Love” and “Dynamite,” respectively, the Bee Gees tweeted:
“Congratulations, @BTS_twt! We like your style”
Later, in November 2020, after “Life Goes On” topped the chart, the Bee Gees expressed their admiration again:
“Congratulations @BTS_twt! Glad to be in such good company.”
