When BTS released their 2020 album BE, they invited fans into their creative process like never before, offering a series of behind-the-scenes making videos that showcased the group’s hands-on involvement in every stage of the album’s development. Earlier on April 17, BTS RM had a 12-minute live stream video on YouTube to greet the ARMY and share some updates. As the coronavirus lock-down and concert cancellations, he spilled a little bit of information they are already working on BTS’ new album
Jimin as the music project manager
On May 1, Jimin had a live video and revealed that he is in charge of the music project manager (PM) for BTS’ new album. Being the bridge between the group and company, he compiled the members’ opinions and issues and communicate them to the company, vice versa. He also shared that they have talked about the new album’s total tracks, what music style they want to make, the album topic, and more.
RM, J-Hope, and V
On May 7, BTS V, J-Hope, and RM spent about 40 minutes discussing their upcoming album visuals. V (Taehyung) in charge of the visual project manager for the upcoming album. He asked RM and J-Hope opinions as they are into visuals and fashion.
RM suggests a concept related to the recent condition where a house or room has become very important, where each member will have their own theme decoration and clothes. While J-Hope suggests a home party as all of them miss performing on stage. So they will wear casual clothes for a music party in the living room.
Group discussion BTS “BE” 2020
On May 11, the BTS members discussed ideas for the concept and message of their next album. Suga talked about giving hope to everyone like “Spring day.” While RM suggested a message no matter what is going on in the outside world, our lives go on.
As for Jimin, he talked about keeping being grateful for everything that usually gets taken for granted. Moreover, Jin suggested writing about empathy, and Jungkook added to have a song that stress-relieving. While J-Hope also suggested a song that BTS-like. V mentioned one of the BTS songs, “So what.” He also suggested having a song that hype and beat.

On May 25, BTS Jin live stream on YouTube for about 40 minutes. He showed up with RJ playing “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Gorban in piano performance. He revealed that he’s working on the new album design with Suga
J-Hope
Another BE behind the scenes was on June 5 when J-Hope had a live stream on YouTube. For 12 minutes, he listened to music casually and shared about the progress of their new album.
He unintentionally gave a spoiler to the ARMY during the live stream as he was working on his music for BTS new album, which actually can be heard in the live broadcast.
V updates BTS new album “BE” stage process
Moreover, on June 9, BTS V had a live broadcast on YouTube. He updates the fans with the progress of BTS’ new album as the concept of the new album has finally decided.
Moreover, he also said that he has also written one or two songs, but he is unsure if his songs will be included in BTS’ new album BE.

On June 16, Jimin shared the production process updates of BTS’ new album “BE.” The group has decided on their album concept, songs that they had been working on, including few songs that he had been working on himself.

Sometime in July, as shown in “BE” behind the scenes clip, RM and J-Hope tested different cameras to be used on their concept photos of the new album. A staff member helped them out, and in the end, they chose which camera they liked best.

On September 27, RM shared his thoughts after BTS single ‘Dynamite’ was released. He also added that working on the new album and writing songs makes him relax during the current situation.
J-Hope shared about music on BTS new album
On September 28, through live broadcast on YouTube, J-Hope revealed a little bit of information about what the ARMY could expect from their new album “BE.”
He said that the songs in BTS’ new album are songs that fans want to hear from BTS in this current situation. He added ARMY should listen to it once the album is out to feel them themselves.
