In November 2020, BTS’s SUGA delighted fans with an unboxing and review of their self-produced album, “BE.” This presentation offered an intimate look into the album’s components and the group’s creative journey. The “BE” album is encased in a book-like box, reflecting BTS’s minimalist aesthetic. The cover features the album title in RM’s handwriting, adding a personal touch. Inside, the package includes a CD, a making-of book, a lyric book, photo cards, a photo frame, a Polaroid, postcards, and a poster.

BTS’ Suga takes us through unboxing of their new album “BE”. He goes on to show each element of the album package one by one, explaining everything. “We made this album hoping that a lot of people would listen to it and cheer up” Suga “Send lots of love and support for our “BE” album, Please give it lots of love”

SUGA highlighted the photobook, emphasizing that each member curated their individual room’s design, showcasing their personalities. This concept symbolizes the members’ unique identities and collective unity. A notable inclusion is a photo card featuring SUGA’s artwork titled “Morning.” Created by translating his morning thoughts into a waveform and then onto canvas, this piece visually represents sound. SUGA expressed surprise upon discovering its inclusion, humorously remarking, “You scanned it without my permission.”

The album offers a full set of photo cards, each depicting members in their self-designed rooms with “BE” inscribed in their handwriting. Also included are seven postcards, each taken by a different member, reflecting their individual styles. These postcards can be inserted into the CD case’s cut-out, allowing fans to personalize the album cover.

“BE” marks BTS’s inaugural self-produced album, with members undertaking various roles. Jimin served as the A&R (Artists and Repertoire), acting as a liaison between BTS and their company, overseeing creative activities. The album comprises eight tracks, including the hit single “Dynamite.” It encapsulates BTS’s 2020 experiences, addressing themes of comfort and solidarity amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Tracks like “Life Goes On” resonate with listeners by reflecting shared global challenges.

Upon release, “BE” debuted at number one on South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart, selling over 2.2 million copies in its first week. It achieved significant international success, topping charts in multiple countries and solidifying BTS’s global influence. SUGA’s unboxing provided fans with a deeper appreciation of the meticulous effort invested in “BE.” The album not only showcases BTS’s musical talents but also their artistic vision and personal expressions, further strengthening their connection with fans worldwide.
