After months of recovery following his shoulder surgery, SUGA finally made his return to BTS, just in time to celebrate the monumental success of their song “Life Goes On”, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The news of the song’s debut sent waves of excitement through the group and their fans, ARMY. For SUGA, this achievement was even more significant as he had been away from the group for some time, focused on his healing process. Yet, even from a distance, his support for the members and the project was evident, making the moment of their No. 1 debut feel even more meaningful.
BTS finally came together to celebrate their song “Life Goes On” debuting at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. BTS have had performances since releasing “BE” at the 2020 American Music Awards, Best Artist 2020 Awards, Good Morning America, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and ABC’s The Disney Holiday Singalong on Monday night singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” For the Best Awards, ABC’s The Disney Holiday Singalong, the “BE” Global Press Conference, interview with James Corden, SUGA was not with BTS during some of the performances and interviews because he is recovering from his shoulder surgery last month.
Jin, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had all sent their well wishes to SUGA during his recovery, constantly checking in on him, but the true emotional release came when they were all finally together again. “Life Goes On” resonated deeply with BTS and ARMY, offering a sense of hope and continuity amid a year that had been challenging for everyone. SUGA’s return was symbolic, showing that even in the toughest times, life goes on, and with time, healing and progress are possible.
It was refreshing and exciting seeing him join the rest of BTS members to celebrate their historic Billboard Hot 100. BTS took to Twitter to share their reaction to receiving the news writing “Billboard #1!!!!! Thank you (with our Yoongi hyung for the first time in a while) #LifeGoesOn1onHot100,”
