BTS’ music has been the positive factor in these dark year, fans have streamed their music 4.7 BILLION times this year on Spotify alone! That is why they are among 2020’s artist that the world listened to most. BTS growth has been constant and stable since 2017 when they had 50 million hours of their music being listened to, in 2018 they had 2 billion Spotify streams, in 2019 they had 3 billion Spotify streams and in 2020 they have 4.7 billion Spotify streams! BTS are no. 6 of artists with the most streams across Spotify in 2020.

Music is exactly what the world needed as the days became darker and there was a lot of despair as life seemed to have stuck at a bad moment, BTS were there for it.

2020 has been a long a$$ year with COVID-19 forcing the whole world to adapt to the ‘new normal’, which isn’t really normal at all! The one thing that has been constant is BTS making ARMY not feel to claustrophobic and bored with staying in the house. The lack of moving outside freely have made people to find creative ways to pass time and with the onset of the internet, people have been able to connect in ways that they would not if they were going on about their daily lives.

Many people have confessed that being in quarantine led them to discovering BTS. As you know once you just “wanted to know their names”, it is a downhill deep rabbit hole that leads you to these amazing 7 men that will have you questioning “where have you been all my life?” or regretting “I wish I found you sooner” to that BTS would tell you it does not matter if you whether there from the beginning, you are here now with us.

2020 was unexpected and it hit with so much force, so fast that everyone was left whiplashed, confused, hurting and not knowing what is next. BTS have been the comforting piece of this ridiculously long puzzle with their sharing of their lives with ARMY, they have shown that they are also hurting but finding ways to keep sane and somewhat happy. RM even said that their song “Dynamite” would not have happened if not for the quarantine, saying there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel.

BTS have kept ARMY busy with all the activities that they have been involved in. From sharing on Weverse, VLive App, YouTube Live, to live concerts, the members have given us the chance to beat boredom. They have also discovered new hobbies, Suga and Jungkook are learning to play the guitar, RM and Jin took to painting, RM returned to serious work out that did not go unnoticed, from the members admiring his new muscles, to ARMY reveling in his well-built frame.

J-Hope taught us to make bracelets, we were never bored with Suga keeping us entertained on his radio show and we also saw him painting, the painting ended up as part of their new album “BE” photo card. RM and Jimin made national news as they attempted to make the famous Dalgona coffee.

BTS never let us have a moment to feel despair, after releasing “Dynamite” which brought sunny, happy, summer vibes, they released a new album “BE” on 20th November that is like a journeys of the experiences they are having during this pandemic and giving us a way to escape to their music that is built perfectly for a time as this that we can do nothing but lean on each other at home. They are saying that your room does not have to feel suffocating or a prison, it should be a space you go to for some rest, comfort and even healing, whether alone or with a loved one
