BTS’ latest “BE” Album Now Legible For Platinum Certification in The U.S. BTS’ “BE” album was released on 20th November 2020. As of June 2021, the album has remained on the chart for 28 consecutive weeks.

BTS’ “BE” album, released on November 20, 2020, was a deeply personal and introspective project born out of the emotional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The album carried themes of hope, healing, comfort, and connection, as the members of BTS reflected on their own experiences during a time of global uncertainty. Unlike previous albums, “BE” saw the BTS members taking an even more hands-on approach in its creation. Each member took part in roles beyond singing and rapping—such as visual direction, production, design, and concept planningmaking “BE” a heartfelt and collaborative expression of their thoughts and feelings.

The title track “Life Goes On” became an anthem of comfort, reminding listeners that even in the darkest times, life continues to move forward. Its gentle melody and emotional lyrics resonated deeply with fans around the world, debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making BTS the first Korean act to achieve this milestone with a Korean-language song. Other songs like “Fly To My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Telepathy,” and “Stay” each showcased different moods, from introspection and longing to joy and spontaneity, offering a complete journey through the emotions of the past year.

“BE” was not only a musical success but also a testament to BTS’ sincerity and artistry. The album brought fans closer to the group, showing their vulnerabilities, resilience, and hope for better days ahead. From its raw messages to the cozy home-themed visuals and behind-the-scenes content, “BE” felt like a warm letter from BTS to ARMY, reminding everyone that no one is alone and that even when the world slows down, love and music remain.

“BE” album debuted atop the US Billboard 200 with 242,000 album-equivalent units, including 177,000 sales, becoming BTS’s fifth number-one album in the United States.  As a result, BTS became the fastest group to earn five number-one albums since the Beatles between 1966 and 1968. BTS also became the first group to have two chart-topping albums in the country in 2020.

Seven tracks from “BE” album charted simultaneously on the Hot 100 chart, with “Life Goes On” and “Dynamite” in the top-10, “Blue & Grey” in the top-20, and “Stay” in the top-40. This stood as the most simultaneous entries on the Hot 100 chart by a Korean act.

“BE” received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in January 2021.

At the end of 2020, according to MRC Data, Be was the fifth best-selling physical album of the year in the US, with 252,000 hard copies sold. It was one of two BTS albums to make it on the top-ten ranking, the other being Map of the Soul: 7 in first place—BTS was the only artist with multiple albums on the list.
