LOUIS VUITTON announced their spin-off show for the 2021 Fall / Winter Men’s collection to be held on July 7th featuring their latest house ambassadors, BTS. BTS’ RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, debuted their first runway appearance in Seoul during the Louis Vuitton‘s Fall-Winter 2021 show.
According to Vogue Japan, Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton’s men’s artistic director set the theme of this collection as “EBONICS”. It means black English and is a part of the English dialect in the United States. Standard English phrases can have completely different meanings in Black English. It contains a message of hope that all children, regardless of race or gender, can dream freely.
In the Jeon Go-woon and Park Sye-young directed clip Jin, Suga, j-Hope, RM, Jimin, Jung Kook, and V each don a never-before-seen look designed by Abloh as they navigate an industrial space filled with Louis Vuitton-clad models, the over 10 minute clip includes an illuminated indoor skyscraper with a floating object with the word “HOPE” inscribed on it.
BTS are seen maneuvering an endless maze of staircases as they smoothly walk and intensely gaze at each other with a perfectly fitting background music.
