“Usikimye is Swahili word for “Don’t be Silent” and OneInAnARMY a charity organization will be supporting “Usikimye” against sexual and gender based violence in Kenya. With #BreakTheSilenceWithJK, the charity organization has chosen to suport a Kenyan organization, “Usikimye” which is a safe haven where they provide food, shelter, counselling among other forms of support for victims and survivors sexual and gender based violence.
As a Kenyan ARMY we are so proud to see our country be in the spotlight. Getting to see our country’s name on BTS’ “Permission to Dance” music video was the highlight of the year and now one of the charity’s in the country has been chosen to be supported in honor of Jung Kook’s birthday is the icing on the cake. ARMY is one amazing family that never ceases to amaze us.
BTS have taught us to Love ourselves which eventually trickles to loving others, and loving others is through action which is giving, whether financially, physically, virtually, or otherwise, the heart of the giver is what matters. Thank you OneInAnARMY!💜💜💜

According to UNHCR Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) refers to any act that is perpetrated against a person’s will and is based on gender norms and unequal power relationships.
Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) includes any form of a non-consensual sexual act, attempt to forcefully obtain a sexual act, unwanted sexual comments or advances, or acts to traffic women’s sexuality, using coercion, threats of harm or physical force, by any person regardless of relationship to the survivor, in any setting, including but not limited to home and work.
Six core SGBV types include, rape, sexual assault, physical assault, forced marriage, denial of resources/ opportunities or services and psychological and emotional abuse
