This event was more than just a performance it was a celebration of resilience, hope, and the unbreakable connection between BTS and their fans, lovingly known as ARMY. The concert, streamed live for a worldwide audience, marked the group’s return to performing in their home country and gave fans a front-row experience to a visually stunning and emotionally charged show.
The Seoul concert was a continuation of BTS’ “Permission to Dance On Stage” tour series, which initially kicked off in Los Angeles with four sold-out live shows. The Seoul leg was unique, not just because it took place in the members’ home country, but also due to the hybrid format of both online streaming and limited in-person attendance. After a long gap in live performances in Korea due to the global pandemic, fans who were lucky enough to attend in person were seated following strict safety measures, and their excitement was palpable even through the screen. The group made sure to acknowledge the significance of performing in Seoul, showing heartfelt gratitude to their Korean fans who had waited patiently to see them perform again in person.
From the opening moments of the concert, BTS set the tone with high energy and captivating visuals. The stage was massive and filled with vibrant lights, powerful graphics, and a layout that allowed each member to shine. They opened the show with the impactful song “ON,” immediately electrifying the audience. The choreography was as tight and mesmerizing as ever, and their vocals were strong and heartfelt. The camera work captured every moment in sharp detail, giving online viewers an immersive experience that felt almost as close as being there in person.
The setlist for the concert featured an impressive selection of songs from across BTS’ discography, blending fan favorites with newer releases. Songs like “DNA,” “Fake Love,” and “Idol” had the audience cheering, while tracks like “Life Goes On,” “Blue & Grey,” and “Spring Day” brought out raw emotions and reminded fans of the band’s comforting messages during difficult times. Each performance was accompanied by powerful stage visuals, carefully curated lighting, and meticulously planned transitions that kept the concert flowing smoothly from start to finish. The seamless production only emphasized BTS’ dedication to delivering a perfect performance no matter the setting.
One of the most touching moments of the night came during the performance of “Permission to Dance.” This song, known for its upbeat melody and inspiring lyrics, became a global anthem of joy and optimism during the pandemic. As the members sang and danced with wide smiles, viewers could feel the sincerity behind the message that no matter where you are or what challenges you face, you still have the permission to smile, dance, and move forward. The sign language choreography, included to reach fans of all abilities, added an extra layer of inclusivity and thoughtfulness.
Throughout the concert, BTS made it a point to interact with their fans watching online and those seated in the stadium. Even though there were limits to shouting or singing along in the venue due to health guidelines, the members encouraged fans to wave their light sticks and hearts, creating a glowing ocean of purple that filled the entire space. At several points, the group paused to speak to ARMY, sharing their emotions about returning to the stage, their gratitude for the unwavering support, and their hopes for the future. Their words were heartfelt, often bringing tears to the eyes of both fans and members.
The group also took a moment to reflect on how far they had come and how much they had missed the feeling of performing in front of their fans. Jimin mentioned how surreal it felt to finally be back on stage in Seoul, while RM expressed his hope for more concerts in the future where fans could sing and cheer without restrictions. Jung Kook, V, SUGA, j-hope, and Jin each shared their personal thoughts, and it was clear how much the return to the stage meant to them. There was laughter, emotion, and a deep sense of appreciation for the journey they had walked together with ARMY.
Another highlight of the show was the way it showcased each member’s individuality and charisma. Whether it was Jimin’s graceful dancing, j-hope’s boundless energy, SUGA’s calm intensity, or RM’s commanding stage presence, every performance brought something unique. Jin’s vocals soared beautifully through the screen, V’s expressions added depth to each song, and Jung Kook’s confidence lit up the stage. Their synergy as a group remained flawless, proving once again why BTS is a phenomenon unlike any other.
As the concert neared its end, the group gave an emotional final speech and performed fan-favorite songs like “Mikrokosmos” and “Young Forever,” which often close out their concerts. These songs carry messages of love, hope, and enduring connection, and hearing them live again brought a wave of emotion over the audience. The member’s speeches
“Turning thirty, it aches here and there, and I really want to hold more concerts before I become too old and it becomes hard to keep up the energy as before. With the LA concert as the start, we’ll find more chances to meet you guys so please look forward.” Jin
“I looked up our Final Concert, and it just felt like a dream –this whole place packed with no one wearing masks. Although it wasn’t easy to fill all the stages together, I grasped we’ll be able to reunite with you guys here at the Olympic Stadium next time.” SUGA
“My motto is ‘Rather die than to live without passion,’ but recently I’ve been feeling the embers faltering inside me, soulless whatever I did. But standing here, on the stage where ARMYs are watching from far away, I realized that I needed to see you guys.” Jung Kook
“The Olympic Stadium is really big, and without anyone here, it feels half like doing a rehearsal. It’s becoming more difficult to think of what to say now that I’ve said so much without you guys here. But I feel we’re gonna meet soon, so let’s talk more then.” Jimin
“We filled the whole setlist by all seven of us. It was a challenge for us, and there were difficult moments, figuring out how to maintain the tension. We really put in a lot of effort, our souls into decorating PTD On Stage. We wonder how you guys found them.” j-hope
“I’ve been feeling myself pushed to limits, trying to remember what I did, who I was. But I knew I’d be able to remember when I came here. And although V had to sit out and you guys aren’t here, I realized I won’t need any motivation if I could just hold a concert.” RM
