Global superstars BTS have once again solidified their position as music industry icons with their latest nominations at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The beloved septet has earned nods in three major categories: Best Duo/Group of the Year, Best Music Video for their chart-topping hit “Butter”, and Best Fan Army, a recognition of their dedicated global fanbase known as ARMY.

This exciting announcement comes just a year after BTS dominated the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards, taking home several accolades. In 2021, the group won Best Fan Army, Best Music Video, and Favourite Music Video Choreography, all for their record-breaking single “Dynamite”. However, they narrowly missed out on the Best Duo/Group of the Year award, which makes this year’s nomination in that very category especially meaningful to fans who have eagerly awaited a chance to cheer the group on once again,

“Butter,” which was released in May 2021, quickly became a cultural phenomenon and one of BTS’ most successful English-language singles to date. With its smooth, catchy melody and dynamic choreography, “Butter” took over the world’s music charts, spending 10 non-consecutive weeks at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and breaking several streaming and YouTube records in the process. The music video is a vibrant visual experience that showcases BTS’ style, charisma, and choreography, making it a strong contender for Best Music Video at the awards.

The nomination for “Butter” celebrates not only the song’s success but also BTS’ undeniable ability to consistently deliver high-quality, fan-centric content. Whether they’re performing on global stages, creating behind-the-scenes vlogs, or launching interactive projects like BTS In the Soop, the group always places their fans at the center of their work.

Perhaps one of the most heartfelt categories for BTS and their supporters is the Best Fan Army award. This category honors the dedication, passion, and power of a fandom and no one can deny that ARMY sets the gold standard. From trending hashtags worldwide in seconds to organizing massive streaming parties, charitable donations, and billboard campaigns, BTS fans have continued to prove their unwavering support and unity.

The fanbase, which spans across continents, languages, and cultures, has always played an essential role in BTS’ meteoric rise. Their support has helped BTS win numerous fan-voted awards and break records that many thought were impossible for non-English acts. The Best Fan Army nomination is a tribute to this powerful relationship between the band and their fans a bond that transcends typical artist-fan dynamics and has become a global force for good, positivity, and connection.

Last year’s iHeartRadio wins were a proud moment for both BTS and ARMY. With “Dynamite” sweeping multiple categories, the group’s creative direction, innovative performances, and the unique charm they bring to their music were recognized on an international stage. The song’s upbeat retro-disco vibe and brightly-colored music video stood out among releases in 2020, bringing much-needed joy during a difficult global time.

As the group steps into 2022, these nominations show that their influence remains as strong as ever. They’ve continued to evolve musically and conceptually while staying true to the values that have defined them since their debut. From tackling themes like mental health, youth struggles, and self-love to launching philanthropic initiatives and global campaigns for social change, BTS is more than just a musical act they are cultural ambassadors, artists, and role models.

With their nomination for Best Duo/Group of the Year, BTS is once again being recognized for their synergy as a group and their impact on the music industry. Despite releasing much of their content during the pandemic years often with virtual performances or through pre-recorded content the energy and commitment they bring to their craft is unmatched.

The 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards are set to be a memorable event, and ARMY is already gearing up to support BTS in every way possible. Online voting for certain categories, including Best Fan Army, is expected to bring fans together for another incredible show of unity and enthusiasm.

While the awards are an exciting opportunity for recognition, BTS themselves have often emphasized that their greatest reward is the love and support of their fans. As Jung Kook once said during a concert, “The moment I see ARMY, I feel like I’ve already won.” That sentiment remains at the heart of BTS’ journey.

This year promises more music, more memories, and perhaps even more trophies for BTS. With new projects, solo works, and possibly a return to live global performances, the group shows no signs of slowing down. And as long as BTS continues to create, ARMY will be there every step of the way.

As the iHeartRadio Music Awards approach, all eyes are on BTS and the powerful ARMY that continues to support them with unwavering passion. The three nominations for Best Duo/Group of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Fan Army reflect the strength of BTS’ artistry and the global community they’ve built.

Whether they take home all three awards or not, BTS has already won in the hearts of millions. These nominations are not just accolades they’re milestones that tell a story of talent, dedication, and an unbreakable bond between artists and fans.

Congratulations to BTS and ARMY on these well-deserved nominations. Let the countdown to the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards begin!
