“Butterfly” is the fifth dance practice from the BTS vault to be released as part of the 2022 FESTA celebrations. Originally released on November 30, 2015, “Butterfly” holds a special place in BTS’ discography and in the hearts of their fans. It appears as the third track on their fourth mini-album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.2, and also features as the fourth track on CD 2 of their first compilation album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. Known for its delicate yet emotionally charged melody, “Butterfly” captures the vulnerability and fleeting nature of youth, a central theme in the HYYH series.

The “Butterfly” dance practice shared during FESTA 2022 showcases the beauty and precision of BTS’ choreography, blending soft, lyrical movements with moments of intricate synchronization. Unlike their more powerful performances, the choreography for “Butterfly” is tender and flowing, mirroring the fragility and longing expressed in the song’s lyrics. The members’ expressions and graceful movements amplify the emotional impact of the track, making it not just a dance, but a storytelling moment. Fans were thrilled to receive this glimpse into one of BTS’ most beloved eras, bringing back memories of the group’s journey during the HYYH period.

Releasing “Butterfly” as part of their FESTA festivities highlights BTS’ deep connection with their history and their fans. It is a celebration of how far they have come and a tribute to the music and memories that have shaped them into global artists. With each dance practice, BTS remind ARMY of their enduring artistry, and “Butterfly,” with its poignant beauty, is a perfect reflection of the bittersweet emotions that defined a key chapter in their career.

BTS Festa is an annual celebration that BTS holds every year in June to commemorate their debut anniversary with ARMY. Since their debut on June 13, 2013, BTS has used Festa as a special time to share new content, including family photos, new songs, heartfelt letters, exclusive choreography videos, and behind-the-scenes footage. It’s a time when BTS expresses their gratitude for the love and support they’ve received from their fans over the years, and each Festa is carefully prepared with surprises that show the members’ personal reflections and growth.

One of the highlights of BTS Festa is the new music or special performances that the group releases just for the celebration. These songs are often emotional, nostalgic, and full of heartfelt lyrics that speak to the journey they’ve shared with ARMY. Past Festas have gifted fans with songs like “Still With You” by Jungkook, “4 O’CLOCK” by RM and V, and touching group performances that celebrate their bond. Every year, BTS also releases beautiful family-style portraits, showing their playful and genuine sides, making Festa feel like an intimate party where fans are truly part of their extended family.

Over time, BTS Festa has become more than just a celebration, it’s a tradition filled with laughter, tears, and memories. It reminds both BTS and ARMY how far they have come together and how strong their connection remains despite the years passing by. Whether it’s through funny profiles, emotional interviews, or stunning new content, Festa captures the spirit of BTS’s journey: one built on love, hard work, dreams, and an unbreakable bond with their fans around the world. Each Festa is a beautiful testament to the everlasting relationship between BTS and ARMY.

A prologue mix and an alternative mix were released on May 2, 2016, serves as the eleventh track of the CD 1 and the fifth track of the CD 2 in their first compilation album. The song has a Japanese version featured in their sixth Japanese single “Run” and in their second Japanese studio album Youth.
