Hollywood actor Tom Cruise recently made a special guest appearance on Run Seok Jin. This is the solo entertainment show hosted by BTS member Jin. It is broadcast via the group’s official YouTube channel, BANGTAN TV. According to industry insiders on the 12th, the filming took place during Cruise’s recent trip to Korea. During his most recent ‘RUN Jin’ episode, Jin had lessons in acting for an action film role. He impressed one of the martial arts/stunts directors who was tutoring him. His actions scenes went viral and fans were calling on Netflix to have Jin appear on a movie. It seems that the ‘RUN Jin’ episode might have been a teaser of what is to com. Well, we will wait and see what the two starts have in store for fans.
Run Jin (달려라 석진; also known as Dallyeora Seokjin) is a variety web series starring Jin. The series features Jin competing in games, challenges or activities with or without different guests each episode. The series first aired on August 13, 2024 and is now being aired every Tuesday in its 33rd Episode. His latest episode was titled ‘Jin Wick’ where Jin did some stunts and action moves that impressed the director.
This marks the first-ever meeting between Jin and Tom Cruise,two global icons in their respective fields. The collaboration was arranged as part of promotional activities. These activities are for Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning (also known as Mission Impossible 8). This is the latest installment in Cruise’s long-running action franchise. Cruise arrived in South Korea on the afternoon of July 7. He began a press tour for the film. This was his 12th visit to the country. His previous trip was in 2023 for the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
He was accompanied by director Christopher McQuarrie and co-stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Greg Tarzan Davis. The team spent two days and one night in Korea. They participated in various media events. These included a red carpet appearance and a press conference.
Tom Cruise’s segment on Run Jin features him solo. Other cast members participated in separate promotional collaborations. Director McQuarrie joined Korean filmmaker Choi Dong-hoon on Master’s Talk. Simon Pegg and Greg Tarzan Davis filmed content for Epik High’s YouTube channel. These episodes are scheduled for release around the Korean premiere of the film.
Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning follows Ethan Hunt (played by Cruise) and his IMF team. They confront a dire global threat. This situation demands high-stakes decisions with life-or-death consequences. The film has earned a non-competitive screening spot at the Cannes International Film Festival. Back in 2020, Jin had once shared on their Twitter page a photo of him and Tom Cruise. The polaroids showed guests who had been on the James Corden show. In the cation he wrote, “ I could see there was space next to Tom Cruise Hyung-nim, so I occupied it quickly”
And now, they will be working together on a variety show.
