Seoul, June 10, 2025, BTS members RM (Kim Namjoon) and V (Kim Taehyung) officially completed their 18-month mandatory military service today, a significant step toward the band’s full reunion. Their return ignited celebrations across the globe and confirmed that BTS’s comeback is now more tangible than ever. Approximately 1,500 fans, many traveling from Japan, China, the U.S., Mexico, Turkey, and Brazil, gathered outside HYBE’s headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul. Dressed in purple and bearing signs, banners, and trucks equipped with LED congratulations, their energy was electric.

Service for RM began in late 2023 within the 15th Infantry Division military band, while V served in the 2nd Corps Military Police Special Mission Unit. Both members stepped out in crisp military attire, saluting the crowd with heartfelt gratitude. Their hour-long greeting in Chuncheon included poignant statements: “I want to make music and return to the stage quickly,” RM shared, while V promised fans “a cool performance” soon.

HYBE showed its support with a giant “WE ARE BACK” banner across its building façade, which will remain until June 29 to coincide with BTS’s 12th debut anniversary on June 13.

Investor excitement surged in tandem with fan celebrations. HYBE’s stock reached 310,000 KRW, a 52-week high, driven by market optimism over BTS’s imminent full return. Earlier in the week, shares hit 304,500 KRW, gaining 7% on June 9 as the band’s full lineup grew nearer. The boost reverses a sharp downturn following BTS’s 2022 hiatus, restoring investor confidence and signaling a dramatic turnaround.

With RM and V discharged, the remaining members continue their service:

  • Jimin and Jungkook are set to be released tomorrow, June 11.
  • Suga completes alternative service on June 21.

Jin and J-Hope, having finished service in 2024, have already resumed solo activities, leaving BTS one step from full lineup activity.

HYBE’s headquarters and landmarks across Seoul are bathed in purple, echoing fan excitement and pride. Media coverage emphasizes not only the end of their service but also the symbolic return of a cultural phenomenon. This moment resonates far beyond entertainment, it underscores BTS’s influence as a beloved social and economic force.

Returning fans and shareholders alike have caught the vibe: BTS isn’t only back, they’re stronger. RM’s vow to create and perform, V’s promise of a “cool performance,” and HYBE’s strategic visual cues all point toward a coordinated comeback effort. Their military experience, now complete for six of the seven members, adds depth and maturity to their artistry.

The group’s upcoming FESTA celebration (June 13–29) and potential anniversary events are holding space for teasers, musical or otherwise, and set the stage for a full BTS resurgence in 2025. RM and V’s military discharge marks a signal moment in global pop culture: BTS’s return to full activities is no longer distant, it’s here. Their high-profile exit back into civilian life blends emotional resonance with strategic planning: live connections with fans, market recoveries, and a visual declaration of purpose.

With 5 of 7 members discharged, BTS stands on the brink of a full-scale comeback. The emotional closeness of their military exit, the stock market’s bullish reaction, and HYBE’s confident messaging compose a narrative of renewal. Between Jun 11 and Jun 21, BTS’s final members step out, completing the group’s journey back to the stage, together.
