The release of the BTS Official Light Stick Ver.4 sparked immediate global frenzy on Monday, selling out within minutes across Weverse Shop’s Global and U.S. platforms. As soon as sales opened, fans flooded the site, overwhelming servers and triggering error messages, payment failures, and temporary crashes, clear signs of demand far exceeding available stock.
The upgraded light stick was released in two versions: the Korean version priced at $35 on the Global store, and a U.S. exclusive version priced at $64. Despite the price difference, both versions sold out almost instantly. ARMY members worldwide shared screenshots of sold-out banners, frozen checkout pages, and confirmation emails, with successful purchases being celebrated as rare victories amid the chaos.
Alongside the main light stick, Weverse Shop also launched several accessories, including cradles and display parts designed to enhance both functionality and collectability. These accessories, intended for storage, presentation, and home display, were quickly added to carts by fans hoping to complete their collections. Many accessories also saw limited availability shortly after launch, further fueling frustration and excitement online.
The Official Light Stick Ver.4 introduces notable upgrades from previous versions. Its most striking feature is a redesigned transparent globe showcasing the BTS logo, giving it a cleaner, more modern aesthetic. Technologically, the new version includes improved wireless concert controls, allowing for more precise and responsive synchronization during live performances. This enhancement is expected to play a major role in future stadium shows, enabling large-scale, immersive fan participation through coordinated lighting effects.
The timing of the release added to the overwhelming demand. The light stick launch comes ahead of BTS’s highly anticipated full-group comeback scheduled for March, marking their return after a prolonged hiatus. With a new album and world tour widely expected, fans rushed to secure Ver.4 in preparation for upcoming concerts, viewing it as an essential part of the comeback era.
Social media platforms were quickly filled with reactions ranging from excitement to disappointment. While some fans expressed joy at successfully completing their purchases, many others voiced frustration over carts being emptied during checkout or the site crashing before payments could be processed. “I refreshed for 20 minutes straight,” became a common sentiment echoed across fan posts.
Weverse has not yet announced an official restock date, but given the immediate sell-out and sustained demand, fans anticipate additional releases in the coming weeks. Previous light stick versions have historically been restocked multiple times during active tour periods, suggesting Ver.4 may follow a similar pattern.
The rapid sell-out once again highlights BTS’s unmatched global influence and the purchasing power of ARMY. Even without active promotions or performances, the group continues to dominate fan-driven sales, proving that anticipation for their comeback is already reaching peak levels months before its official launch.
